Look who's honoring me now!

I wasn't going to post this until I had some links to share. But a while back, I got some pretty heartening news. Science North, that great interactive science museum in Sudbury, Ontario, is about to open a new planetarium. That alone is great news. I haven't been to Sudbury in years, but it's great to have a planetarium that's not in Toronto (which closed it's planetarium doors years ago).
But the awesome news (from my selfish perspective) surrounds the pre-show video. We've all seen them: brief introduction to the field, brief history, some pretty pictures and videos, some florid prose about the beauty of the field, and a friendly reminder to turn off your cellphones and pagers and such. Then the doors open up, or the curtain is drawn, or the laser-lights start flarring.
Well, guess who's photos are in the pre-show! Ka-Blamo! I had originally thought that there would be about one or two of my photos, but the final cut has about 8 or 9 (though I could be mistaken)!
I obviously can't show you the video here or on youtube, but if you're in Northern Ontario anytime after July 11 (opening day), check out the planetarium, see the show, see my photos, see my name in the stars! (in the form of photo credits and special thanks). One thing I CAN tell you is that I've put every picture he used on this blog in the past, and that he pulled his selection from my astro-photography photostream, here. I won't tell you which ones, but I think you can get a pretty good idea yourself.

What aboot some re*moon*eration for you?
Honor doesn't exactly pay for telescopes and cameras does it? The Grey Nuns in Montreal paid me $400 to use this photo* of Comet Hale-Bopp in a display in the Musée Marguerite-Bourgeoys. The nuns who I dealt with weren't quite sure how to respond when I informed them about astronomer Fred Hoyle's theory that comets may have "fertilized" the cosmic "egg" of the Earth in a Not So Immaculate Conception. . . ;-)

Wow, thanks for the heads-up! I live in Sudbury and did not hear about this, shows how much attention I pay to local news, I will definitely go and post a reply, Thanks! Science North also has a great Imax theatre, the shows are amazing.

Congratulations! That is totally awesome. Well deserved, too. Your stuff is great.
